Sunday afternoon, Station 1 was dispatched to assist Companies 4, 5, and several Westmoreland County Fire Departments with a tractor trailer fire on the PA Turnpike. Initial responding units did a great job knocking down the fire with foam and water from Tanker 5, as well as establishing a water supply through the woods to an adjacent road. Due to the need for extensive overhaul of the burning load of vinyl siding and the extreme heat, additional units were requested for manpower, including Station 1. Utility 1 operated on scene for about an hour before being released by command. Pictures from WTAE and WPXI News Websites.
